Schnittke - Dedication to Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Shostakovich, for piano six hands

Stravinsky in profusion! I apologize for: - not being able to provide you with the names of the performers - any not perfectly synchronised parts due to the very short duration of several frames - some parts of the sheet which don't match the performance, but you can easily follow the music despite these differences Composed in 1979.
Busoni - Six Etudes op. 16 [2/2]

A really nice set of etudes (this is a more "traditional" Busoni though), beautifully played by E. Arciuli. I hope you like them.

I can’t even imagine how you read all those arpeggios in mvmt 2 with all those accidentals
1:02 best part
If Meshuggah was from the 1800s
3:08 is my fav-it’s just such a cool little part
Wow amazing piece!!
The beginning of the first Etude sounds like constipation 😅
based Lutosławski
For those of you, who can't get rid of the feeling you know the main theme in the 3rd movement: after few hours of having it in my head, I recognized a mix of Bloch's Fugue from the Concerto Grosso and Shostakovich's own 4th movement of the Cello sonata. No idea if he had it in his mind, but I am satisfied. :)
My favorite version among the many ones here ... Not too slow, very moving. And most of all, the minimum required of rubato. This is insane how much rubato some great pianists feel obliged to put in this so beautiful piece of music. The music is absolutely wonderful and moving by itself: no need to add any "romantic" exaggeration !!!

Thank you for posting this. I never would have known about it otherwise.
The recording has been sped up, obviously to anyone who works with live performance recording.
METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
Spank me daddy
Herr Bach would've been very proud to this arrangement by Maestro Fiorentino. The extension of the counterpoint is adventurous but masterfully done. I'm going to look up more things about this Sergio and see if his original compositions stack up to his arrangements. Lovely!
I love prokofief, because he is very energetic.
Wow
Ok the way I see it, the E♭ minor prelude is about 20 seconds long and begs for some exploration of material. Balakirev gives us that, so I’ll take it.
At exactly 2:04, the bar just before the modulation to the Ab major is one of the greatest things ever composed in my opinion. If you start listening from around 1:45, you expect the phrase to conclude at 2:04 in D sharp minor (as it has happened before in the piece). However, quite suddenly we are in B major, and then we descend into D sharp minor, G sharp minor, back to B major and then to D sharp minor where the D sharp is treated as E flat in the next bar and acts as the fifth of A flat major. The unexpected shift to B major at 2:04 specifically is marvelous. The shift to B major and the descent to D sharp minor is at the same time hopeful yet melancholic. I lack the words to describe it, if the phrase concluded at D sharp minor, it would have been more tragic but this way, switching to B major in small fleeting instances, makes the piece more melancholic and more mysterious.
This one isn't as good as his other works imo
There is a single wrong note. Challenge: find it to win the treasure!❤
Quel génie...
Gorgeous
Very poor execution. Formalistic. Ashkenazi don't understand this music.
Well played, i do however think his version is best
